In plain words
Find the change in the Change Log tab, click Show the numbers, then Which nights were compared? and List the nights. On the night that was not normal, click Not a fair comparison?, choose a reason such as Local Event or Festival, keep Just set aside this one date (recommended) and click Set this date aside. From the next run that date is left out of comparisons for 3 years. Undo under Your corrections puts it back.
Set the date aside
- 1
Open the change
On the Change Log tab, find the change made by a or booked so far vs usual rule and click Show the numbers under it. The panel shows how many bookings arrived and how many a night like it usually has.
- 2
Show the nights it compared
Click Which nights were compared?, then List the nights. One row per past night appears, such as "Fri, Jul 18 2025" with "12 bookings in the same stretch" and why it was picked.
- 3
Flag the odd one
On the row that was not normal, click Not a fair comparison?. Under "What made Fri, Jul 18 2025 not a fair comparison?", choose a reason from the list: Local Event or Festival, Sporting Event or Tournament, Conference or Convention, Renovation or Rooms Out of Service, Utility or Amenity Outage, Group Buyout, Nearby Competitor Closed or Sold Out, Severe Weather, Road, Transit, or Flight Disruption, Booking Data Looks Wrong, Other (which asks for a few words), or Holiday Not on MAYA's List, covered in Handle a holiday MAYA does not have.
- 4
Keep the recommended scope and save
Leave Just set aside this one date (recommended) selected and click Set this date aside. The row now reads "Set aside. Not used from the next run on."
Setting a date aside needs Revenue Manager access or higher. Anyone on the property can open the panel and read the nights.
What it does
From the next the date is left out of every comparison and out of the reading of your seasons. The expected count for the night you started from is worked out again from the nights that remain, and any or booked so far vs usual rule reads the new figure on its next check: both leave the date out. Nothing about the past is changed and no price is moved by the correction itself.
Some reasons offer two more scopes. This happens every year around this time starts a yearly pattern: once the same reason is reported near the same time of year from 2 different years, a window of about 5 days either side is left out every year. This should also change how our seasons are read (advanced) needs reports from 3 different years before it changes anything about seasons. Until those counts are reached, only the single date is set aside.
A date you set aside counts for 3 years from the day you set it aside. After that it still shows under Your corrections but is no longer left out, so a yearly pattern needs newer reports to keep going.
See and undo your corrections
At the top of the Change Log tab, Your corrections lists every date you have set aside, each with Undo. Undo makes the date comparable again from the next run. A flagged date can also be seen on the row itself the next time you open that night's comparisons.
