What MAYA does not do (yet)

Each line says what is missing, then what you can do today. Most limits have a way round them, and the most useful one is often typing a price yourself on the Calendar tab: it can do for chosen nights nearly everything a rule cannot.

Rules

• No weekday rules. Every rule you build runs every night, weekends included (a starter rule copied from your own weekend or weekday moves is the exception, named "(Fri and Sat)" or "(Sun to Thu)"). Type a price on the nights you want, or use booking speed, which already compares each Friday with other Fridays. What rules cannot do yet
• No date range, season or event rules. Rules you build have no dates (a rule imported from PIE keeps its start and end dates, shown under its "?": Import your rules from PIE). Type a price for the stretch with through… on the calendar, for any nights from tonight to 399 days ahead. Hold a price for an event
• No copying a rule, and no copying rules to another property. Add it again. Editing and renaming are on the rule's row: Change a rule
• At most 40 rules On at once. Rules switched Off do not count. Switch one Off to add another, and the changes it made stay. Deleting one also frees a place, but undoes its changes. Turning a rule off, deleting it, or changing it
• No "or" between conditions, and at most one condition of each kind. Make two rules. What rules cannot do yet
• No priority setting. When two booking speed or pickup rules are true on the same night, the stronger one acts: the one that changes that night's starting price by more, then a fixed tie-break order. Standard rules all apply. Which one fires when several match
• No price further than 395 nights ahead by rule. Type a price for the night (up to 399 days ahead), and it is priced and sent when the night enters the window. The window
• No rule that copies one room type's price onto another, or keeps a fixed gap between them. Measure one set of room types and change another by a percentage or an amount. Let suites follow standard rooms
• No rule that measures a room type that does not count as a room. Tick it as a room, or measure your rooms and change it. Measure one set, change another
• No change to the three-times question. You cannot change the number three or stop a rule on a night before it asks. Type a price for that night. Rules that keep adjusting
• No control over booking speed's levels, guards or how many similar nights are used. Booking speed
• No floor or ceiling setting on the dashboard, and no floor or ceiling per night or season. Change one room's in its box on the review, or answer the five questions again for every room at once. Floors and ceilings

Seasons, holidays and history

• No holidays outside the US, and no way to add a holiday, festival or local event. Set the night aside with the reason for a holiday, and say it happens every year. Handle a holiday MAYA does not have
• No seasons you set yourself. You cannot name, move or define one. Set unusual past dates aside with the scope that also changes how seasons are read. Similar nights
• No page that lists your seasons, similar nights or holidays. They show inside Show the numbers, for the night in question. The numbers behind a change
• No closed period added by hand, and a closure still to come is priced as normal. On Cloudbeds or ThinkReservations, set those nights to 0 in your system, which closes them for MAYA too. On Mews a 0 there has no effect in MAYA. Checking what MAYA found
• No button to restart the history import. If a lost connection stopped it, reconnecting picks it up. If it stops for any other reason, email us. The history import

Prices and sending

• Nothing is sent to Mews, including prices you type. MAYA reads Mews bookings, runs your rules and shows the prices. Mews: what works today
• No minimum stays, closed to arrival or departure, close-outs, availability or allotments. MAYA writes nightly prices only. Set the rest in your property system. What MAYA reads and writes
• No price per rate plan, per guest count or per package. MAYA writes one base rate per room type (on ThinkReservations, the same change also goes to each other standard rate type you leave ticked on the PMS tab: Your other standard rates), and plans that follow it move by your system's own rules. How prices reach your property system
• No price of 0 is ever sent. For a free night, set 0 in your system yourself. Make a night free
• No undo button for one price change. Type the price you want, or delete the rule. Once the keeps-adjusting banner asks, you can also stop the rule on that night so it changes it no further (its changes so far stay). When a price change comes off
• No send mark on the calendar grid. The change log says under the newest change on a night whether it was sent ("Sent to Cloudbeds.", "Accepted by Think Reservations, checking."); older changes carry none. How prices reach your property system
• No email, text or banner for a sending problem. It appears in the change log only. A lost connection is the exception: it usually shows a banner, and after about an hour the General Managers and Hotel Admins get one email. When your property system does not accept a price
• No "sync now" button. MAYA reads your bookings about every five minutes on its own. The PMS tab
• No button back to simulation once you are live. Email us, or turn your rules off. Pausing, or going back to simulation
• No competitor rates, weather, event or holiday feeds. MAYA works from your own bookings and rates only. What MAYA does
• No watching for emergency declarations or changes in the law. If a law limits price rises, change your rules or type prices yourself. Terms and legal
• No rounding to whole units for a currency without cents. Prices are worked out to two decimal places. Time, weekends, currency and holidays

Property systems

• Three systems only: Cloudbeds, ThinkReservations and Mews. No Opera, Little Hotelier, Guesty or others, no spreadsheet or file import, and one system per property. Which systems work
• Mews is connected by us, with no history import, no starter rules, no suggestions, no read of your rates, and no go-live or reconnect from the app. Email us. Mews: what works today
• ThinkReservations has no Marketplace install, so no trial without a code, and a login covering several hotels is set up by hand. ThinkReservations
• No room blocks, allotments or out-of-order rooms read from any system. Enter them as rooms out of service on the PMS tab. Room types and rooms out of service
• No renaming, merging or switching off a room type in MAYA. Names and unit counts come from your system, and a room type Cloudbeds no longer lists is switched off for you by the daily read. Untick Counts as a room for anything nobody sleeps in. Room types and rooms out of service
• No screen that changes your time zone or currency. Both are read when you connect (on Cloudbeds, checked again once a day), and the PMS tab shows them. Email us to change either. Time, weekends, currency and holidays
• No disconnect button in MAYA. Disconnect in your system, or email us. Reconnecting and disconnecting

Calendar and change log

• The change log reaches back 90 days, 10 runs at a time with Older, with no search and no export. To see one night's changes, open Why this price? from the calendar or under a change (Find out why a price changed). A change older than 90 days is gone. The change log
• No notifications when a price changes, by email or otherwise. Emails MAYA sends
• A fixed amount in the change log's bold line shows $ whatever your currency. The number is yours, and the calendar, the rules list, the rule builder, the Rate Simulator and the change log's sentences use your currency's sign. Calendar and change log questions
• No week or list view, no weekday names above the grid, and no list of the bookings behind a night. Open the night in your property system. The calendar
• No booking speed reading before a rule acts. It appears under Show the numbers after a change. Booking speed
• No report of what each rule has earned, or would have earned, and no revenue report. The change log's last line is one rough estimate, in total, of what MAYA's prices added, from bookings already made (The rough estimate). Account, team and billing

• No way to change your sign-in email address in the app. Email us. A password is reset or changed from Forgot password? on the sign-in page. Reset your password
• No two-factor sign-in, Google sign-in or single sign-on. Create an account and sign in
• No custom roles, and no role that sees billing without also being able to go live and change the team. Roles
• No resend button for an invitation (for someone who has never signed in, remove them and invite them again, or email us), and no inviting someone to several properties at once. Inviting and removing people
• No view of all your properties at once, no shared rules and no pooled billing. Several properties
• No free plan, and no trial without the Cloudbeds Marketplace or a code. A trial comes once, at a property's first signup: a restart gets no free days, from the Marketplace or a code. Properties over 500 rooms are not sold self-serve. What it costs
• Cards only: no bank transfer, ACH or invoicing. Cards, payments and invoices
• No invoices inside MAYA. They live in Stripe's billing portal, opened with Update card, receipts & cancellation on the Billing page. The billing page
• No link to accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero. Forward Stripe's receipts to your accountant, or change the billing email in the portal to an address they read. They do not need a MAYA login for invoices. Cards, payments and invoices
• No pause. Turn your rules off, ask us to put the property back in simulation, or cancel and restart later. Cancelling, restarting and leaving

Your data, and everything else

• No export of rules, data, the calendar or the change log. Copy what you need from the screen. You can email us for a copy of your data, though one is promised only where the law requires it. Privacy, security and your data
• No self-serve deletion of a property or its data. A Hotel Admin or General Manager emails us. Cancelling, restarting and leaving
• No public API for your own systems. What MAYA does
• No mobile app. MAYA is a website, with nothing to install. A tour of the app
• No demo you can start yourself. We send a demo property, a made-up lodge, to people on the waitlist. On your own property, simulation runs your rules and sends nothing. The demo property
• No phone or chat support, and no status page. Support is by email. Contact support
