In plain words
A new property's dashboard has a short checklist: connect your property system, finish the review, turn a rule on, look at the change log, and go live. Each step ticks itself as you do it, and the line always shows the next one. It is there for a General Manager or Hotel Admin, and you can close it whenever you like.
Where it is
One line on the dashboard, under the tabs with the banners, headed "First week with MAYA". It has a short bar for each step, how many are done ("2 of 5"), and the next step as a link: "Next: Turn a rule on". All steps opens the whole list, with a tick beside each step that is done; Hide steps folds it away again. The ? beside them says how it works.
Clicking a step that is not done opens the place you do it: the PMS tab, the review, the Rules tab or the Change Log tab. Going live is the Go live button on the amber strip at the very top, so that step is words only.
The steps
- Connect your property system. Ticks while the connection on the PMS tab reads Connected or Degraded. Which systems work
- Finish the review. Ticks once the review of what MAYA found in your history is finished. Mews has no history import yet, so a Mews property's list leaves this step out, and so does the list of a property we set up and connected for you, which has no review. Checking what MAYA found
- Turn a rule on. Ticks while at least one rule on the Rules tab is switched On. While you simulate, its changes show on the calendar and in the change log and nothing is sent. Build your first rule
- Look at the change log. Ticks once anyone on the property has opened the Change Log tab. The change log
- Go live. Ticks once the property is live. MAYA sends nothing to Mews, so a Mews property has no Go live and its list leaves this step out. Going live
A step ticks on screen as soon as you do it there: a rule switched On, the Change Log tab opened, the property gone live. A step that stops being true, such as every rule switched Off or a lost connection, loses its tick the next time the dashboard opens.
Who sees it and when
A General Manager or Hotel Admin, on a property they belong to. A Revenue Manager or Viewer doesn't see it, and neither does MAYA support or a demo property.
It shows for 14 days after you connect (for a property we connected for you, Mews included, from the day the property was set up), and only while a step is still open. When the last step ticks while it is on screen, it says "All done" until you close it or leave the page.
Closing it
The × at the end of the line closes it in this browser, for this property, and it does not come back here. Your teammates, and you on another browser, still see it until its time is up or every step is done.
What it reads
Only what MAYA already has: the connection's status, whether the review is finished, which rules are switched On, whether the property is live, and whether anyone on the property has opened the Change Log tab, by its tab or by a link to it, which MAYA already notes as part of how MAYA is used. It only reads. Nothing new is recorded about you, and closing it is kept in your browser, not by MAYA.
