In plain words
MAYA is one page with five tabs: Calendar, Rules, Rate Simulator, Change Log and PMS. At the very top, a slim amber strip says when your property is simulating, or a small green Live tag says it is live. A gear for Settings, and Billing and Team, are buttons at the top right. A Property dropdown sits to the right of the tabs. Banners above the tabs tell you when something needs you, and stay out of the way when nothing does.

The five tabs. Calendar, Rules, Rate Simulator, Change Log and PMS. Calendar opens first; the tab you are on stays in the address.
- Simulation or live: While MAYA only simulates, a slim amber strip across the top says so: it works out prices but sends nothing to your system. A General Manager or Hotel Admin goes live from its Go live button. Once live, a small green Live tag sits there instead.
- The header: The MAYA logo, top left. Help, the Settings gear, Billing, Team and Sign Out sit top right.
- Help, Settings, Billing, Team, Sign Out: Help opens the docs page about the screen you are on. The gear opens Settings: what each calendar day shows, its colours, and your text size. Billing and Team are for a General Manager or Hotel Admin. Sign Out ends your session.
- Banners: They appear only when something needs you: billing, a lost connection, the review, or rules that keep adjusting.
- The five tabs: Calendar, Rules, Rate Simulator, Change Log and PMS. Calendar opens first; the tab you are on stays in the address.
- The Property dropdown: Every property you belong to, in alphabetical order. Your choice is kept.
- A day card: The night's sellable occupancy, rooms booked out of rooms you can sell, the revenue on the books and a thin colour bar, unless your property picked other numbers in Settings. Click it to open the day.
The app is one page: a header with Help, the Settings gear, Billing, Team and Sign Out, five tabs (Calendar, Rules, Rate Simulator, Change Log and PMS), the Property dropdown beside the tabs, and banners above the tabs when something needs you.
An illustration with made-up numbers, not your property.
Simulation or live, at the top
Above everything else, on every tab and on the Billing and Team pages, sits the property's mode. While it simulates, a slim amber strip reads "Simulation · MAYA works out prices but sends nothing to Cloudbeds" (your system's name), with a ? that says what that means. A General Manager or Hotel Admin also sees a green Go live button at its right, which opens the go-live confirm (Going live); anyone else finds who can switch it behind the ?. Once the property is live the strip is gone, and a small green Live tag sits at the top right instead. The strip sits above the header and never covers it. Simulation mode has the rest.
The header
At the top left is the MAYA logo with two short taglines under it. At the top right are five buttons: Help, a small gear for Settings, Billing, Team and Sign Out.
Billing opens your billing page and Team opens your team page. Both are for a General Manager or Hotel Admin. Anyone else who opens them sees the page with a short explanation instead of the controls. Each has a ← Back to MAYA link at the top. Sign Out signs you out and returns you to the sign-in page. Help opens the page of these docs about the screen you are on, in a new tab, so nothing you have half filled in is lost.
The gear opens Settings over the page: what each calendar day shows and which way its colours read, for everyone on the property, and your own text size. Read Settings.
The five tabs
The tabs sit under the header. Calendar is the one that opens first when you sign in.
Calendar
A month grid. Each day is a card showing the day number, that night's as a percentage, how many rooms are booked out of how many you can sell, the room revenue on the books, and a thin colour bar. Your property can pick other numbers for each day in Settings. A small key on the left of the grid reads "Strong night", "Typical night" and "Weak night": the colour compares the night's revenue per room with your own other nights, past nights against past nights and future nights against future nights. The key's ? says so. A property that reversed its colours in Settings sees green for a weak night and red for a strong one, and the key says that instead.
Click a day and the day detail opens: the date, a summary line, and one card per room type with Booked, ADR ( means average daily rate: that night's room revenue divided by the rooms booked), Current price and Revenue. When Booked reads 0 there is nothing to average, and the ADR line shows a dash. Amounts carry your property's currency sign. Under each room type card is the box where you type a price for that room type on that night. Prev and Next step a month at a time, and the month and year dropdowns jump further. Read The calendar.
Rules
The heading Pricing Rules, with the Get suggestions from my data button beside it. Under that, a filter (All, Enabled, Disabled), a closed panel called How rules behave that holds three short animations, and the list of your rules with columns Name, Fired, Conditions, Room Types, Price Change and Status, plus Edit and Delete buttons on each row. A rule's number under Fired opens its fire log: every time it acted in the last 90 days. At the bottom, + Add a rule opens the rule builder, which Edit also opens, filled with the rule. Switching a rule on, adding one, or saving changes to one that is on first opens a small calendar of the days it will change, with Apply price adjustments and Skip price adjustments (Turn it on, or Save changes for an edit, when no price would change). Read Build your first rule and Turning a rule on, Apply or Skip.
Rate Simulator
Make up a night and see what your rules would do to it. Its intro says so, and adds that nothing here is saved and no rate reaches your property system. Five panels run down the page:
- The night: a stay date, and a to pretend.
- Your rooms: each room type that counts as a room, with a Base price, Occupancy and Picked up you can change. Its Guardrails are its floor and ceiling: no rule can take its price below or above them.
- Rules in play: your real rules, switched-off ones included, each with a checkbox to leave it in or out of the test.
- + Build a test rule: a draft rule to try alongside them.
- What would happen: the result for each room type.
Save This Rule adds the draft to the Rules tab switched off. Read Trying rules out in the Rate Simulator.
Change Log
The 10 most recent that changed a price, newest first, with Older at the bottom for the 10 before them, back through 90 days. The button at the top right toggles between Show All Cycles and Show Changes Only. Changes only is the default. Show All Cycles adds one quiet line for each stretch of runs that changed nothing, such as "Prices checked 47 times from Sep 24, 10:05 AM to 1:55 PM, nothing needed to change." Each run lists up to 40 changes, one per room type and night, biggest moves first, each with a sentence saying which rule acted and why. The runs and the detail behind every change are kept for 90 days. For a change you cannot find, email us within those 90 days and we look it up for you. Booking speed changes carry a Show the numbers button. A Your corrections panel under the heading collects any past nights you have set aside as not a fair comparison. Read The change log.
PMS
The connection to your property system. The heading reads Property System with your system's name in brackets. Three cards: Connection (connected, pending, degraded, error or disconnected), Health (last 24 hours) and Last sync, then a list of the most recent requests MAYA made to your system, and a Time zone and currency card showing both as saved for your property. When the connection is broken, a Reconnect Cloudbeds (or Reconnect Think Reservations) button appears here.
Under the connection is the Room types section. Each room type has a Counts as a room checkbox (untick a meeting room or a spa slot and press Save, and it leaves the occupancy count and the room count you are billed for) and a + Rooms out of service link where you note units you have taken off sale for a stretch, so occupancy counts only what you can sell. Nothing is sent to your system. Read The PMS tab: connection health and Room types and rooms out of service.
The Property dropdown
To the right of the tab row, labelled Property. It lists every property you belong to, in alphabetical order, and shows even when there is only one. Choosing another property reloads the calendar, the rules, the room types and every banner for it: billing, the lost connection, the review and the rules that keep adjusting. A banner for the property you left goes as soon as you switch. Properties that are set aside or not yet paid for do not appear. Read Several properties on one account.
The banners, in the order they stack
Banners appear between the tabs and the tab's content, only when something needs you. From top to bottom:
- Billing. Red with a Restart MAYA button when work has stopped (for example "MAYA has paused work on this property"). Amber with a Fix it button for a warning, such as a payment that did not go through, a card that stopped working, a room count that is higher than you pay for, or a subscription set to cancel. When the fix is to write to us (a paused subscription, or more than 500 rooms), the button is Email us instead. Silent while everything is fine. Read The billing page.
- Connection lost. "MAYA has lost its connection to Cloudbeds" (or your system's name), with a Reconnect Cloudbeds button for a General Manager or Hotel Admin. One click sends you to your system to confirm and brings you back. Anyone else sees the heading and a line asking a General Manager or Hotel Admin to reconnect. With Mews, everyone sees "Mews needs its keys re-entered" instead, with no button and "Ask us to re-enter the Mews keys: email info@modern-hospitality-solutions.com.": email us and we re-enter them with you. Your rules, history and settings are untouched. Read Connection lost.
- The review. A blue card, shown after your history has been read and something is waiting for a yes or no from you, ending with the link Review →. It disappears once you finish the review.
- First week with MAYA. One quiet line for a General Manager or Hotel Admin in a new property's first days: how many setup steps are done and the next one, each ticking itself as you go, with a × to close it. Read First week with MAYA.
- Rules that keep adjusting. An amber banner once three changes by one or rule are on the same night's price. It names the rule and the night and asks you to choose Keep adjusting or Stop for this night. Until you answer, the rule keeps going. Read Rules that keep adjusting.
The Billing and Team pages
Billing shows one headline sentence about your subscription (on trial, active, a payment to fix), the Your plan rows, a Monthly or yearly switch, your Room count with a box to change it, and the button Update card, receipts & cancellation, which opens Stripe. Read The billing page.
Team shows how many seats your plan includes and how many are used, an Add someone form with the four roles to choose from, What each role can't do, and the list On this property of members and pending invitations. Read Roles: who can do what.
What is not on screen
- The base price. The calendar shows the current price for each room type and night, not the price the rules started from. The change log's sentences say what each change started from and what it became.
- Weekday headers on the calendar. The grid has no row of day names. The weekday appears in the day detail heading when you click a day, and the grid runs Sunday to Saturday.
- Your currency, on some screens. Some screens show $ whatever your currency. The numbers are yours. Currency says which screens.
- The tab you were on. Going to maya-rms.com opens Calendar. The tab you are on, and the month, filter or view on it, are in the page's address, so a refresh or the back button keeps your place and a bookmark opens that tab. Your choice of property is kept.
